The National FFA Organization is the largest student-led organization in the world, focusing on leadership development and career preparation in the agriculture industry.

It connects classroom learning with real-world skills, preparing students not only for careers in ranching and agribusiness but also in areas like biotechnology, environmental science, and food production. FFA offers hands-on experiences through competitions, leadership events, and community service projects, helping students build important skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication.

It also fosters personal growth by teaching responsibility and a strong work ethic. With a vast network of members, mentors, and alumni, FFA supports students through scholarships, internships, and job opportunities, ensuring they are well-prepared for future success in both agriculture and other related fields.

The Goliad FFA election process is done in April and consists of an application, test, personal interview, and candidate speeches.

The process is weighted for each category with the member vote holding the highest percentage.

All evaluations are completed by Area X FFA Advisors, Texas AgriLife Extension Agents, and/or industry professionals with no affiliation to the Goliad FFA Chapter.

To become a Goliad FFA member, students must be enrolled in an approved agricultural science course and maintain good standing with the school district. This means that students must not only participate in agriculture-related classes but also meet the school’s academic, behavior, and attendance requirements. Being in good standing ensures that students are demonstrating responsibility and commitment, both in their coursework and as representatives of the FFA organization. Membership in Goliad FFA provides opportunities for leadership development, hands-on learning, and involvement in agricultural education, but it also requires dedication to academic and behavioral standards set by the school and FFA guidelines.
